"Missed Opportunity"

lyrics

I saw a brass band at the brewery
And you were dancing next to me
It was less a dance and more like swaying
As the band started playing
Yeah we brushed shoulders a couple times
But you know I didn't really mind
I could've swore you smiled back at me
What a golden opportunity!

Brass shined in the spotlight as I stood my ground
There were people dancing all around
I couldn't move, my knees were shaking
But you kept right on swaying
I had two drinks and they were pretty strong
But not enough to make me dance along
And soon I sensed a chilling vacancy
A fleeting opportunity!

Oh, if my life were like a movie
You'd be waiting right outside for me
And I would stop procrastinating
As the band would keep on playing
I'd ask your name and get your number
And one thing would lead to another
But that's not real, it's just fantasy
What a missed opportunity!
